Kuwait embassies marks Nat'l Days


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwait embassies in Egypt and Venezuela held functions on Saturday to celebrate Kuwait's 57th National Day, the 27th Liberation Day and the 12th anniversary of the assumption of office by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

In Cairo Ambassador Mohammad Al-Thowaikh and Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Waly and Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Moseilhi opened a charity bazaar under the slogan of "together for supporting childhood and humanity." The one-day event, the fourth in an annual chain, is organized by the women's committee of the embassy in collaboration with the Kuwaiti female residents in Egypt, Ambassador Al-Thowaikh told reporters.

"The bazaar, meant to promote the culture of voluntary and humanitarian action, attracted Kuwaiti female participants from various age categories," he added.

On her part, Minister Waly congratulated the His Highness the Amir, and the people and government of Kuwait on the national days.

She affirmed that the relations between Egypt and sisterly Kuwait grew remarkably over the last decades.

She praised the various products on display at the bazaar.

Meanwhile, Suad Al-Romeih, the ambassador's wife, said the bazaar displays a range of Kuwait-made household items, kitchenware, foodstuffs, clothes and female accessories.

"It aims to held light on the importance of philanthropic action in serving the community and improve the living conditions of vulnerable people," she added.

In Caracas, Ambassador Nasser Al-Enzi hosted a grand reception to marks Kuwait's national days, which gathered a large number of Venezuelan officials, public figures, religious leaders and media people, as well as Venezuela-based diplomats, representatives of international organizations.

Ambassador Al-Enzi applauded the exemplary ties and close friendship between Kuwait and Venezuela in all areas.

Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister Felix Plasencia thanked Al-Enzi and members of the diplomatic mission of Kuwait for their dedication to strengthening the bilateral ties and serving the interests of both nations. (pickup previous) kt.gb
