MANAMA, 23rd February, 2018 (WAM) -- The UAE pavilion at the Bahrain International Garden Show 2018 has experienced a large turnout from local investors, agricultural organisations and school and university students.

The pavilion is being managed by the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, FCA, and the Abu Dhabi Farmers Services Centre, as part of Abu Dhabi's efforts to share its experience in social welfare and providing the highest standards of food safety, in line with the latest international practices in the industry.

"The pavilion is showcasing the UAE's achievements in agriculture and food safety, while introducing the FCA's key projects," said Eng. Thamer Rashid Al Qasimi, Spokesman for the FCA.

"Part of the pavilion is dedicated to presenting the accomplishments of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose efforts to protect the environment have contributed to the UAE's agricultural development over the past decades," he added.

Al Qasimi noted that the pavilion's many visitors were briefed about the investment opportunities available in the UAE, and Abu Dhabi's business-friendly environment that is supported by legislation and its developed infrastructure and services, which have ensured the country's regional and international role as a major hub for food industries across the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, region.

The UAE delegation visited several plantations and farms in Manama and saw the modern techniques that are being used by the Bahraini agriculture sector.

Since its establishment in 2004, the Bahrain International Garden Show, which will run until 25th February, has become a platform for experts and enthusiasts to further develop their expertise and knowledge and learn about the latest practices in the industry. It is also an occasion for potential investors to discover investment opportunities in agriculture.
