Expect rain, thunder in parts of UAE until next week


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The country is set for fluctuating weather patterns until February 26, according to the National Centre of Meteorology.

Motorists are advised to take precautions against poor visibility levels resulting from sand and dust storms.

On Saturdaythe country will be under the effect of a Red Sea trough accompanied by an upper trough with cold air mass from the North.

The northern areas might see a gradual increase in cloud cover with some rainfall over the coast during the night.

Unstable weather conditions as a result of an intensified cold air mass is expected on Sunday.

Cloud cover will continue to increase over scattered areas, as convective clouds of varying intensities might result in some rain and thunder.

The weather will continue to be cloudy to partly cloudyon Mondaythroughout the day.

Rain is set to fall over northern and eastern areas.

Cloud cover will decrease gradually during the evening and night.

Moreover, southeasterly and northeasterly winds are expected to freshen during this period, becoming strong at times over the sea and as a result of convective clouds.

Dust or sand storms may cause a reduction in horizontal visibility over open areas.

Sea conditions will be rough to very rough at times due to the presence of convective clouds.

Sea vessels are advised as well to exercise caution due to sea roughness in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman during this period.
