(MENAFN- The Conversation) Dr. Melba is the director of Extractives Baraza, formerly known as the Information Centre for Extractives Sector (ICES), based at Strathmore University, Nairobi.
She has substantive experience working with institutions within Kenya and internationally in the areas of research and legal advocacy in the extractives sector. She has carried out a variety of research initiatives on transparency, good governance & sustainability of the extractives sector.
Dr. Melba holds a Doctor of Juridical Science from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, with a special focus on corporate accountability for human rights violations by multinational corporations conducting extractive operations in developing countries with weak (or absent) governance systems.
She has also written and presented several papers.
