Jordan, Tunisia sign drug cooperation MoU


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Feb. 22 (Petra)-Food & Drug Administration (FDA) on Thursday signed a memorundum of understanding (MoU) with the Pharmacy and Drug Unit of the Tunisian Ministry of Health to facilitate drug registration in both countries and to overcome relevant obstacles.

The agreement came on the sidelines of a visit by a Jordanian delegation, headed by the Director-General of the FDA, Dr. Hayel Obeidat, to the north African nation to follow up implementation of steps taken during the ninth session of the Jordanian-Tunisian Higher Committee, held in Tunis late November, in a bid to foster bilateral cooperation the field of health.

During the visit, the Jordanian delegation participated in a working session, chaired by Tunisian Health Minister, Emad Hammami, and attended by representatives of Tunisian drug industry, to discuss prospects of bilateral cooperation in this key field and to look into ways to overcome obstacles related to drug registration.
