Qatar Chamber hosts Eurasian delegation

Doha: Qatar Chamber held a meeting with a delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The two sides discussed means of strengthening cooperation relations between Qatari businessmen and their counterparts in the four countries in the fields of energy, trade, construction and infrastructure, agriculture, food, and others.
Qatar Chamber Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Towar Al Kuwari said that the business sector in Qatar has close ties with its counterparts in the Russian Federation.
He noted that the Qatari-Russian Business Council is one of the most active councils involved in developing cooperation relations between the Qatari and Russian business community, including holding meetings and activities that contributed to the familiarisation of the two sides with opportunities for investment in both countries.
The Qatar Chamber vice chairman pointed out that Qatar pays special attention to food security, which can be an important area for building a strategic partnership between the two sides. He noted that Qatar plans to establish large grain storage silos as part of its plans to achieve self-sufficiency as part of a pilot project for food security, where Russian expertise in this area can be used.
