New Jersey Governor demands action on gun control

(MENAFN) Following the gunfire attack which struck a high school in Florida, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has demanded measures over weapons control, urging that "we gotta die trying."

In an interview, the Governor insisted "I'm all for the 'thoughts and prayers' and 'our hearts are with you,' and symbols matter and words matter, but this is a time for action."

"And I completely reject this notion that there's nothing we can do," he continued before adding "and I hope at the end of the day, that New Jersey can actually be a model for, 'You know what, there is something you can do. And they've done it.'"

Governor Murphy has reportedly spoke out on a package of proposed gun legislations in a roundtable a week ago, before the Florida school shooting caused upheaval to rise.
