(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Beirut:The Lebanese army General Joseph Aoun said that "The army will not spare any method available to confront any Israeli aggression, whatever that costs."
"The Israeli enemy recently initiated several threats and dangerous practices that impact Lebanon's firm right in its oil wealth, particularly that in Block 9. This is in addition to their attempts at building a wall that might pass in Lebanese territories," Aoun said during an event organized by the Army's Research and Strategic Studies Center.
He reiterated Lebanon's refusal of any Israeli attempts to infringe on Lebanon's sovereignty.
"The Army will use every possible mean to confront any Israeli aggression no matter what the sacrifices were" he added.
He stressed that the Lebanese army will also be firm in ending any internal attempt to destabilize the civil peace, and provoke the dust of sedition, will never allow the return of the clock back, and the transformation of the political difference that is the core of the democratic system into chaos, that some seek to blow up the great national achievements achieved by the Lebanese, and by our martyrs and our heroic soldiers in more than one position and a decisive battle.
