Turkish, Iranian leaders discuss Syria


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, Feb 19 (KUNA) -- Turkish and Iranian Presidents, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Hassan Rouhani respectively, discussed Monday developments in Syria specially in Afrin and Idleb.

The two leaders reiterated importance of counter-terrorism cooperation, Anadolu news agency quoted sources at the presidency as saying.

Erdogan and Rouhani voiced support to all efforts to resolve the crisis in Syria in line with outcome of negotiations in Astana, Kazakhstan, and Sochi, Russia.

Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed earlier today setting up new monitoring chekc points in the de-escalation zones in Idleb, northern Syria. (end) rs.bs
