Iran: "US presence not allowed in Euphrates"


(MENAFN) Warning against US plan to dismember and divide the countries of the region before calling for increased vigilance, The Counselor for International Affairs of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution reiterated that the Resistance would not allow an American deployment in the east of the Euphrates.

During a meeting with the Iraqi Vice President Nouri al-Maliki on Sunday, the adviser of Islamic Revolution Leader Ali Akbar Velayati called for efforts to stop the deployment of US forces in the eastern Euphrates.

"The establishment of new military bases in Syria will unleash a new wave of terrorism and strengthen the Tukkirist movements that were seeking to weaken the resistance front, especially Iran."

As part of his visit to Iraq, from Thursday, the Islamic Revolution Leader's adviser said Iraq, given its Islamic culture and sources of imitation, is neither Japan nor South Korea to allow a US military presence.
