S.Korean chicken soup in Chinese market

(MENAFN) As China has made peace with South Korea, more South Korean food companies are being allowed to sell chicken soup in China.

South Korea has received approval for exporting samgyetang, the traditional chicken soup in 2016, but was banned from sales in April 2017, after a spread of bird flu.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Chinese government gave export licenses to eight new producers in addition to 11 registered companies that have taken strict measures to meet trade standards.

To ship the product to China, chicken processing facilities should not be located within 10 kilometers of poultry farms infected with avian influenza, the ministry said.
