Bahrain economy records 4.8 percent growth in 2017

(MENAFN) The Bahrain Economic Development Board's (EDB) Bahrain Economic Quarterly has found 2017's first nine month to have brought about 4.8 percent growth in non-oil economy.

Bahrain's boost in non-oil economy for 2017 is forecast in the report's statistics to go beyond the 4 percent that was reported in the previous year.

Chief Economic Advisor of the Bahrain EDB Dr Jarmo Kotilaine explained "Bahrain's economy continues to deliver at the upper end of growth expectations thanks to a combination of robust structural and countercyclical drivers."

The chief continued "we expect this positive dynamic to continue into 2018 as the regional environment becomes more supportive of growth and as the diversified economy continues to expand, supported by an unprecedented investment pipeline."
