(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) he Golf Trick Shot Boys are back producing golf magic in Muscat this week in the inaugural NBO Oman Open and their hilarious show is guaranteed to put a smile on the faces of spectators visiting the event over the weekend.
This year the Trick Shot Boys have being doing more than just entertaining fans at the event, they've been doing their bit to grow the sport of golf in Oman with an initiative by National Bank of Oman (NBO), which has seen them visiting schools in the region for the past two weeks, performing shows and giving the students tips on how to play the game.
They're now back in a favourite old haunt and Geoff Swain and Kevin Carpenter are delighted to return to the Greg-Norman designed Al Mouj Golf to entertain fans at the European Tour event in a country where golf is growing at a rapid rate.
'This is our third time over here; we've done two NBO Golf Classic Grand Finals on the Challenge Tour and now this inaugural European Tour event and the interest in golf keeps getting bigger and better,' said Swain, who was crowned the 2006 World Golf Trick Shot champion.
'We've been here a couple of weeks travelling around the schools which has been fantastic because we've managed to get golf clubs into children's hands for the first time and hopefully this will help them take up the sport and grow the game in Oman.
The Golf Trick Shot Boys will be performing three shows a day at Al Mouj Golf. The first one is two short demonstrations are at the Tented Village, at 11am and 2pm but the main show is at 4pm every day on the driving range. Even if you're not a golf fan, these shows which feature unicycles, 6ft clubs and baby drivers, portray golf in a light-hearted and entertaining manner that shouldn't be missed.
'People see the fun side of golf when they watch our shows and we are performing daft tricks on unicycles and on each other's shoulders which shows a different side of golf from the conventional slow-paced sport,' said Carpenter.
'We've got some new tricks that we're going to unveil for the crowd in Oman that have never been before, as well as some all-time classics, so I hope you join us this weekend at Al Mouj Golf.'
Admission is free of charge at the NBO Oman Open and the tournament concludes on Sunday evening so there's plenty of time to pay a visit to the biggest sporting event to occur in the country where you can witness Ryder Cup stars and Major winners in action and also appreciate the talent and humour that the Golf Trick Shot Boys have to offer.
