Iranian products exhibition opens in Amman


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Feb. 16 (Petra)-- The Iranian products exhibition kicked off Thursday here at the Al Hussein Youth City with around 30 companies from the western Asian nation taking part in the fair.

The ten-day exhibition is organized by the International Promoters Company (IPCO) in cooperation with Caravan Company and the Iranian embassy in Jordan.

The event is an opportunity to foster closer trade ties between Jordan and Iran and enhance them in various domains, said Lower House Second Deputy Speaker Suleiman Zaben, expressing hope relations would be given a fresh impetus in the near future. Lauding the distinct organization of the event's fourth edition, he pointed out that it represents an opportunity for Iranian products to access domestic market.

Iranian ambassador to the Jordan, Mojtaba Ferdowsi, said the fair would further forge two-way trade between both countries.

"We hope Jordan hosts another exhibition on Iranian cutting-edge technology in engineering,construction, steel industry and nanotechnology", Ferdowsi said, calling for facilitated customs procedures for his country's exports to Jordan.

IPCO Director-General, Raed Abu Saadeh, said the event acquaints Jordanian consumers with high quality Iranian products, including carpets, nuts and spices among others.

He underscored the importance of convening fairs and economic conferences in the Kingdom, a move that would open new horizons to establish joint investment ventures between both countries' businesspeople.
