US urges Israel to stop assaults on Syria

(MENAFN) In the fear of Israeli army losing its reputation of "military superiority" in the region, the US Department of Defense has asked Israel to stop for the moment its air attacks against Syria, according to the daily Rai al-Youm.

Another source of concern for the Pentagon is that US-made F-16s could lose their place in the global market and countries in view of the purchase of this type of fighter aircraft may have doubts about whether other aircraft of this type were slaughtered by the DCA of Syria.

In addition, the Pentagon worries that another Israeli F-16 crashes into Syrian territory, which would permit Russian military advisers present on the spot to have access to the debris of the US plane.

Some analysts have accused Iran of being involved in the crash of the Israeli F-16, which he reportedly shot down with a Russian-made medium-range missile. This could be another source of concern for the United States and Israel, who fear that Tehran will have access to the high technology needed to destroy their fighter jets.
