Egypt, Schlumberger sign agreement for seismic survey


(MENAFN) Egyptian oil ministry has revealed an agreement to have been signed with Schlumberger for a seismic survey to be carried out in the Gulf of Suez.

The signing of the deal with the oilfield services company has been declared as part of Egypt's attempts to promote exploration investment to companies.

Schlumberger is to commence its efforts on the survey, under the terms of the agreement which was inked in Cairo during an energy conference.

Egyptian petroleum minister Tarek El Molla stated "the region is still full of promising petroleum prospects that require further work and studies to re-discover the gulf's petroleum reservoirs and those that have not yet been discovered."
