DOHA: Mowasalat (Karwa) conducted various sports activities to employees on the occasion of Qatar National Sports Day (NSD) in Karwa City. The sports activities included marathon race for a distance of 5km, where Mowasalat drivers and employees from all departments competed.
The company has manpower from 54 nationalities with diverse cultures and inherent talents. The company recognises such skills and talents to channelise their interest by providing a platform through various staff motivation activities giving the flavour of different regions and nations. There is also annual Chairman's Cup under the kind of patronage of the Chairman and higher management, organized providing a platform for exhibiting sports skills with the objective to build team spirit, camaraderie, friendship and unity. Mowasalat football and basketball teams also participate in various competitive tournaments organised within Qatar.
The company ensures that through sports & exercise employees stay healthy and fit with positive energy, and derive personal enjoyment and satisfaction, while competing in various sports, social and cultural events organised by the management. The National Sports Day marks a new beginning to refresh with sports & exercise for healthier lifestyle with better physical and mental fitness in work environment.
Mowasalat has taken care in planning sports facilities in its complex, including sports fields and highly equipped gyms for enhancing fitness, believing in the role played by sport in strengthening general health, fitness through sportsmanship for better professional performance.
Many teams from Mowasalat employees competed in games like marathon, relay race, basketball, football, volleyball, penalty shootout competition and free throw basketball competitions. In addition, fun games and activities were organized for families and kids who came in big number and enjoyed, besides cheering the participants in various games. All activities have taken place in Mowasalat sports facilities in Karwa City, which the company made to make exercising as an integral part of the daily routine of life, and improve the concept of exercising.
It also promotes the concept of sports being not just a purely muscle development and body shape but building for self-confidence, developing mental presence and general physical endurance.
Mowasalat higher management presented trophies, medals and rewards for the winners showing company's appreciation.
