ICT exports on the rise
(MENAFN) South Korean exports of information and communication technology (ICT) products posted double-digit growth for the 14th consecutive month in January on rapid abroad sales of semiconductors.
The Ministry of Science and ICT, said that ICT products worth USD 117.7 billion were shipped abroad; increasing 28.1 percent from a year earlier.
According to the ministry, strong demand for South Korean computer chips and computers pushed up growth and balance weak exports of mobile phones.
Abroad shipments of computers and computer-related equipment jumped 38.2 percent on-year last month due to steady demand for solid state drives (SSD), while SSD shipments increased for the 10th month in a row.
