Tutik filed a civil lawsuit against Law to demand HK$170,000 (US$21,740) as compensation for physical and psychological damages resulting from abuse during her employment with the Hong Kong woman from April 2010 to March 2011.

The court heard that during her stay with Law, Tutik was hit with rulers, dusters, cleaning cloths and Law's bare hands.

Law did not allow her to contact outsiders and threatened to kill her and hurt her family members if she told anyone about the abuse.

Tutik wanted to resign but Law would get angry and beat her in return for such threats.

When there was visitor, Law would lock her in a room, and would not allow her leave the apartment.

Law's defense lawyer argued that Tutik and his client had a good relationship, as shown during Law's birthday celebration in 2011. But Tutik told the court that Law had asked her to take a photo with the birthday cake and then took the cake away.

Last December, the court backed the compensation claim by Erwiana Sulistyaningish, who had sought HK$810,000 for physical and psychological damages.

In Tutik's suit, District Court Judge Liu Man-kin will hear closing submissions on Wednesday.
