Oman- Bank Sohar supports 'Maja'z al Khair' seventh annual forum


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- As part of the bank's consistent endeavours to preserve and support events that celebrate Oman's rich heritage, Bank Sohar recently sponsored the seventh Annual 'Maja'z al Khair' Camel Race Forum in the wilayat of Saham under the auspicious of H H Sayyid Mohammed bin Thwaini bin Shihab al Said.

Commenting on Bank Sohar's role in preserving Omani culture, Munira Abdul Nabi Macki, GM - HR and Corporate Support at Bank Sohar said, 'The bank has a long history of supporting events that uphold and preserve traditional Omani culture. As an established community-oriented financial institution, we embrace any chance to bring local societies together and present them with opportunities to explore further options of how we can offer support. The Maja'z al Khair seventh Annual Forum is one of the sultanate's biggest camel race events, typically attracting large audiences from neighbouring wilayats who throng to be part of the grand event.

During the forum that was held in Saham, a 5,000 strong crowd gathered to witness an extravagant showcase of Oman's most popular traditions. The event included elaborate displays of traditional Omani products, a camel race, a shooting contest, a camel show and a poetry contest and traditional music band. Bank Sohar was presented with tokens of appreciation for its support of the forum, were Ibrahim Abdullah al Balushi, acting senior manager Khabourah branch received the token of appreciation on behalf of the bank.

Bank Sohar's support of such events helps celebrate the history and traditions of the sultanate and promote voluntary work among the youth of the country. In addition to spreading the key values of heritage, honour, competitiveness and excitement that the country treasures.
