Turkey, U.S. discuss cooperation to fight terrorism

(MENAFN) A spokesman for Turkey's President Erdogan has concluded a meeting with U.S. National Security Adviser H. R. McMaster over deciding on a partnership among both nations to tackle terrorism.

Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin has also discussed with McMaster several major issues, including the U.S. support to Kurdish militias in northern Syria.

The discussion has been brought up after several attempts of appealing to the U.S. to cut relations with the Kurdish People's Protection Units.

The talks have occurred a day before Ankara welcomed U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, with his visit predicted to focus on the Syrian issue along with Turkish-US difference on ties with the Kurdish units.
