Emirates to purchase A380 superjumbos for USD16bn
(MENAFN) The Dubai-based carrier, Emirates, has signed a deal to purchase up to $16 billion Airbus A380 at a quantity of 36 carriers.
The delivery of Emirates' previously ordered 20 double-decker planes and possible extra 16 has been declared to be set in motion in 2020.
Emirates received a warning in the past from Airbus of terminating the A380 production in case major orders were not made.
The airline has revealed Emirates chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al-Maktoum and French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe to have held talks over air services among their countries.
