7 members of a family killed in Khost operation

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Seven members of a family were killed during an operation of Afghan security forces in Alishir district of southeastern Khost province, an official said Thursday.

Ali Jan Kochi, a member of the victim€™s family, told Pajhwok Afghan News "We are living in a remote and border area of the district where Afghan forces launched an operation Wednesday night,€

He said five of his brothers, one nephew and an uncle were killed during the last night€™s operation.

Meanwhile , Haji Gulmar Jan Farooqi, head of Kuchi (nomads) council in Khost province, confirmed the incident and said that seven members of a family were killed in the attack.

Khost deputy police chief, Col. Abdul Hanan Zadran, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the operation was launched on one house in the area.

He did not provide information about casualties, but said delegation to the region was sent to the area and details about the incident will be shared with the media after an investigation.
