Egyptian armed forces continue operations against terrorists N. Sinai

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Feb 11 (KUNA) -- At least 16 terrorists were killed in major security operations launched by Egyptian military in Sinai Friday, said the armed force in statement Sunday.

The military has also destroyed 66 targets, arms depots, 12 explosive devices and 11 SUVs used by terror elements, the source said.

The statement also said forces involved in the operation found a media center with computers, communication equipment, as well as books and documents related to Jihadi ideology.

The Egyptian armed forces launched their military operations as part of a comprehensive operation (Sinai 2018) to purge country from terrorism in the northern and central Sinai Peninsula for the third day in a row.

The Egyptian border guards and the police have intensify the security measures to secure vital facilities, and carried out operations in the areas to counter terrorist activities and thwart any attempt to breach international borders. (end) aff.ss
