Kuwait offers USD900, 000 to UNRWA amid financial crisis
(MENAFN) Kuwait was revealed to have proposed extra financing one month after the U.S. declared its funding cut to the UN for Palestinian refugees.
UNRWA has received an offer from the U.S. to acquire $60 million, in comparison to its previous yearly offers that reached over $350 million.
Kuwait has offered $900,000, while around fifteen donor countries are working to get a move on their donations to help the agency.
However, UNRWA was ahead of an "existential financial crisis" while it searches for a way to compensate for the funding cuts, its representative Peter Mulrean noted.
