(MENAFN) Mexico has seized a man who is believed to be the ringleader of the infamous Zetas drug cartel.
The United States has placed a $5 million reward for the detainment of Jose Maria Guizar Valencia, otherwise known as Z-43.
The leader had been in charged for "importing thousands of kilograms of cocaine and methamphetamine to the US every year," the US state department explained.
It added that the Zetas "have murdered an untold number of Guatemalan civilians during the systematic overtake of the Guatemalan border region with Mexico during recent years."
