Kuwait- Turkish FM to partake in coalition against IS Conf., KICRI


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will attend the International Coalition fighting so-called Islamic State (IS) foreign Ministers conference on February 13, and International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq (KICRI) on February 14 next week in Kuwait.
A statement by the foreign Ministry said Friday Cavusoglu also will conduct bilateral meetings on the sidelines of these two events.
"At the Coalition Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Turkey's counterterrorism contributions and its expectations from the international community in the fight against the so-called Islamic State (IS), PKK/PYD and other terrorist organizations will be emphasized.
"At the International Conference for Reconstruction of Iraq, the efforts that Turkey has so far made for the stability and prosperity of Iraq and the steps it further envisages will be highlighted," the statement added.
Earlier Kuwait Ambassador to Turkey Ghassan Al-Zawawi delivered a letter inviting Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim to attend KICRI.
Bilateral relations, as well as beefing up economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed as well, Kuwait's Ambassador to Turkey Ghassan Al-Zawawi told KUNA. (end) rs.mb
