UAE- Paperless society requires proper security solutions

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) While residents and businesses in the region are looking forward to the UAE being a completely paperless society in a few years time, experts say that having the proper infrastructure in place is a necessity, especially when it comes to digital security.

Speaking to Khaleej Times in an exclusive interview, V. Srinivasan, chairman and founder of eMudhra, a technology, digital identity and transaction management company, noted that the UAE has made great strides in recent years, when it comes to digital transformation.

"We started in India as a digital security company and then expanded into digital signatures and authentication solutions to provide a truly paperless experience. Through all of this, we ensure that all the transactions over the Internet are highly secure. All our end-to-end solutions are created in our in-house R & D centre in India. We have brought these solutions into the UAE market as well as other regional markets," he explained.

"We believe that our solutions will be a great fit in the UAE market, which is fast moving towards becoming a country with paperless business models. The push towards becoming a sustainable society can be attributed to the wise leadership and vision of the UAE government, as well as several large corporations in the region," he added. Srinivasan also noted that the increase in online transactions, also means that online fraud is also on the rise. "There are a number of people that today specialise in online fraud, so enhancing cyber security should be a top priority for businesses in the region. Many businesses are moving towards identity based authentication for transactions, and this is a target for criminals."

His advise to organisations is to find a security product that suits their business model. "Not all businesses require the same state of cyber security that a bank does, but it is important to understand that cyber criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated. There are several products ranging from simple employee identification to complex security softwares that you can invest in. In a world where technology such as the Internet of Things is becoming more than a buzzword, it is important to secure your business."
