Doha: Al Sailiya and Qatar SC will lock horns in their QNB Stars League Week 16 fixture today with the later looking to pick points with the aim of staying away from the relegation threat.
The match will kick off at 4.40pm at Al Ahli Stadium.
Al Sailiya would look to put behind the disappointment of having dropped points following their 2-2 draw with Al Kharaitiyat in the last round.
The Peregrines are fourth with 24 points, but Umm Salal are close behind, so Sami Trabelsi's team cannot afford to lose more points if they are to finish in the top four.
Wagner Ribeiro and Temurkhuja Abdukholiqov are their main men. Midfielder Wagner is joint fourth in the QNB Stars League top scorers' list on 11 goals, a feat he shares with Al Rayyan's Rodrigo Tabata. Al Duhail's Youssef El Arabi (20), Youssef Msakny (14) and Al Rayyan's Abderrazaq Hamdallah (12) are the top trio.
Al Sailiya had won 5-1 in the first phase.
Meanwhile, Umm Salal will take on Al Khor at Al Khor Stadium in the second match of the day which kicks off at 6.50pm.
Umm Salal, fifth with 21 points, were held goalless by Al Arabi last week and that cost Egyptian coach Mahmoud Jaber his job. His replacement, Moroccan Talal El Karkouri, immediately got down to business by readying the players for their match against Al Khor.
Al Khor, eighth on 14 points, had put up a spirited fight before going down 1-2 to Al Gharafa last week. The Knights are also in the danger zone.
