Pakistan vows cooperation with US on regional stability
Top military commanders, who met at the General Headquarters on Wednesday, said: 'National interest shall be kept at premium while cooperating with all other stakeholders for regional stability.'
Chaired by army chief Gen, Qamar Bajwa, the meeting reviewed the 'geo-strategic and security ' in the context of the Trump administration's policy towards the region.
The commanders reaffirmed their commitment to consolidating the gains of successive counter-terrorism operations, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
At the same time, the statement said, Pakistan would benefit from improvement in the security situation due to the counter-terrorism operations. The region as whole would benefit from the action, it added.
