I have traveled with Jacob, Joshua, James, One-Ear and Maggie since this series began and each book just keeps getting better and better. In Last Run, we have shared the last year of war and hardship right along with the 'Rangers, and I am thrilled that the end is near and the men can all return to their homes. But I am also sad to be at the end of a journey with my friends. Last Run: The Gauntlet Runner Book VII takes place in the winter and spring of 1760. Jacob and his men have been tracking in Quebec City, watching and reporting the movement of the French, dealing with injuries, sickness, freezing cold and icy weather and doing it well. Jacob and Maggie have finally been reunited and that has given them both hope and inspiration to keep going. Though they have faced separation, loss of family, treacherous enemies and hatred, their love is strong. Last Run is an authentic portrait of the war, but with the emotional ties of fictional characters.

I cannot say enough good things about Last Run. The Gauntlet Runner has been a truly amazing series and I am so excited that there will be a follow up series about the American Revolution. I can't wait! While each book can be read as a stand-alone, the reader will miss so much if they don't read all seven books of the series. Last Run is a historical fiction book that is outstanding and a must-read. I can promise that you will not be disappointed but will both learn and enjoy looking back in time."
