Huawei and Telefonica complete 1st assisted driving technology test


(MENAFN) Chinese networking and telecommunication company Huawei and its Spanish counterpart Telefonica have confirmed the completion of the world's first test of technology to aid assisted driving.

According to the Chinese telecom company, the successful test of a communications network for vehicles based on 5G network and known as 5G-V2X, is a huge step forward in expanding the 5G ecosystem.

The 5G-V2X technology will let sensors within vehicles to share information in real time and is a key application for the transport and infrastructure sectors.

Huawei said that the 5G new radio system for vehicle-to-vehicle communication has to be improved before fully automated vehicles are a possibility on the road.
