Annab said in a press conference on Sunday that the first route from Paphos, Cyprus to Amman will begin in March of 2018. " This will be followed by nine new routes Queen Alia International Airport and four new ones to Aqaba's King Hussein International Airport.

The routes to Amman include Milan, Budapest, Bologna, Krakow, Bucharest, Paphos, Prague, Brussels, Vilnius, and Warsaw; whereas the routes to be launched in Aqaba include, Athens, Rome, Cologne and Sofia.

"We are ecstatic to see Ryanair, one of Europe's leading airlines, launch 14 new routes from Europe to Jordan," she said, adding that this is a significant development in Jordan's travel industry that would offer travellers from important source market greater choice and value for money offerings.

Annab said that enhancing air connectivity is one of the key areas Jordan is focusing on given its impact on unlocking factors that are vital to Jordan's economic prosperity.

Managing Director of Jordan Tourism Boars Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat said this project's success has opened up new routes to the Kingdom from several crucial source markets and is key in bringing tourists for extended stays in Jordan. The Kingdom's rich tourism offering, through this partnership, will become more accessible to a broader segment of potential tourists," he added.

Ryanair's Chief Commercial Officer David O'Brien said that Ryanair is pleased to announce our entry into the Jordanian market from March 2018, initially with one route from Paphos in Cyprus to Amman commencing in March, and growing to 10 from October, as part of our winter 2018 schedule. Flights to Aqaba, he said, will commence in October with 4 routes, which will deliver almost 500,000 Ryanair customers p.a. at Amman and Aqaba airports.

He said the new Paphos-Amman route will go on sale from Monday from €19.99 for travel in April and May, which are available for booking until midnight Wednesday February 7.
