Greece holds events to raise awareness in World Cancer Day

(MENAFN) Greece has significantly taken part in World Cancer Day through organizing several events that targeted raising awareness, standing with patients and contribute in putting an end to the disease.

The glimmering Greek Parliament building had the motto of the day "We change to live" demonstrated onto it, signifying the importance of the cause.

Parliament's Deputy Speaker Marios Georgiades stated "it is the moral obligation of the State and all relevant authorities to do everything possible, not just to limit the instances of cancer, but to render it a simple chronic illness."

Volunteers of the Greek Cancer Society also played a part in the day, lifting up banners with slogans like "I can. We can" written on them, along with distributing leaflets with information on the disease.
