Qatar- QSE's benchmark index closes at 9,207.01 points

DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange's (QSE) benchmark index gained 2.39 points, or 0.03 percent, when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,207.01 points.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 3.84 million from 9.47 million on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR100.79m from QR267.73m on Wednesday.
Out of the 45 companies listed on the QSE, shares of 37 saw trading yesterday. Of these, 17 gained, 18 companies closed lower, and two remained unchanged.
Indices of four sectors ended in green and three sectors in red today. QSE Total Return Index gained 0.03 percent to 15,439.62 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index increased 0.20 percent to 3,638.12 points. QSE All Share Index increased from 2,590.84 to 2,590.87 points, reports QNA.
However, when compared on weekly basis the QSE's main index lost 252.60 points, or 2.67 percent, last week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 9,207.01 points.
Trading value during last week decreased by 35.77 percent to reach QR969.04m compared to QR1.50bn in the previous week.
Trading volume decreased by 38.05 percent to reach 37.29 million shares, as against 60.19 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 22.77 percent, to reach 16,903 transactions as compared to 21,887 transactions.
Market cap fell by 2.45 percent to reach QR501.80bn compared to QR514.41bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and financial services sector led traded value last week accounted for 41.56 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 22.14 percent. Real estate accounted for 16.79 percent and consumer goods and services sector accounted 8.46 percent. Banking and financial services sector led traded volume last week with 36.76 percent of the total traded volume. Real estate sector accounted for 23.27 percent. Industries sector accounted for 21.61 percent and telecoms sector accounted for 10.12 percent.
Banking and financial services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 33.7 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 24.31 percent. Real estate sector accounted for 18.69 percent and telecoms sector accounted for 8.16 percent. From the 45 listed companies 11 ended last week higher, while 32 fell and two remained unchanged.
QNB led traded value during last week accounted for 9.82 percent of the total traded value.
