Apple's data center in China expected to open in 2020
(MENAFN) The data center Apple Inc. is planning to establish in China is scheduled to go under construction later this year, and expected to open in 2020.
The schedule was provided by the communications administration of southwest China's Guizhou Province, where the center will be set up.
Covering 165.6 acres in Guian New Area, the data center will offer iCloud services on the Chinese mainland.
Starting Feb. 28, iCloud services on the Chinese mainland will be operated by a local partner, Guizhou-Cloud Big Data Industry Co. Ltd., which will rent servers from China's three major telecom operators to provide iCloud services before the data center starts operating.
