GCC healthcare plans stand at a value of USD60.9bn


(MENAFN) The recent GCC construction intelligence report from BNC Network revealed 707 GCC healthcare plans to have, starting January, generated an overall worth of more than $60.9 billion.

The report found 262 projects to be medical clinics or research centres at a value of $9 billion, while 445 projects to be hospitals at a value of $51.9 billion.

The projects include 227, valued $12.7 billion, in the process of design and pipelines, 264 projects, valued $24.7 billion, under construction, and 75 projects, at a projected value of $1.76 billion, still in tender.

BNC Network's CEO Avin Gidwani stated "mandatory health insurance scheme, that is gradually bringing the entire population of the GCC under medical insurance cover is driving investment in hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and other healthcare facilities."
