Emirates Hospital invests USD2.7m for NICU advanced tech
(MENAFN) Emirates Hospital has put in $2.7 million to contribute in advanced technology for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
The latest NICU technology in the hospital aims to save premature and full-term infants, adding the odds for their survival.
A number of services are to be offered by the facility, including complete body cooling (therapeutic hypothermia) for neonatal asphyxia and nitric oxide therapy.
NICU's chief at Emirates Hospital Jumeirah Dr Mohamed Sadik confirmed "the advanced Level 3 services have brought about a paradigm shift in treating premature babies as well as sick term neonates."
