Kuwaiti air pilots excel at training courses in France


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- The French air base Tours has witnessed honoring of a new batch of Kuwaiti combat air pilots after successfuly finishing a military training course.

Kuwait Air Force Commander Major General Abdullah Al-Foudari said in a statement during the honoring ceremony that the decoration of the Kuwaiti air pilots with the "Kuwaiti and French aviation pavilions' medals," depicted depth of the relations between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of France.

He expressed, on behalf of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, admiration of the excellent performance by the Kuwaiti airmen.

For his part, the State of Kuwait Ambassador to France, Sami Al-Sulaiman, said the event was held against the backdrop of a close relationship between the two states.

He has also lauded France's role in the Middle East, calling for greater cooperation between the two countries, particularly now as the State of Kuwait occupies a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council.

Brigadier General Philippe Adam, Commander of the French Air Force Service's Air Operations Brigade, expressed in a statement at the ceremony satisfaction for graduation of the batch of Kuwaiti and French pilots together, praising the Kuwaitis' great discipline.

France intends to continue the military cooperation with Kuwait and place its experience at its disposal, he added.

Moreover, the ceremony, attended by senior Kuwaiti officers, saw decoration with bronze medals of the Kuwaiti brigadiers, Mohammad Al-Khelfan and Nasser Al-Rabee'. (end) mjz.rk
