Kuwait- Info min. opens youth initiatives fair
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 1 (KUNA) -- Under auspices of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the sixth youth initiative fair was inaugurated by Minister of Information Mohammad Al-Jabri at Souq Al-Mubarakiya on Thursday evening.
The opening ceremony gathered Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Hossam Al-Romi, Secretary General of the standing national committee on national celebrations Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Minister of the Capital Governorate Lt.-Gen. Thabet Al-Mehanna.
The kind patronage of this annual event by His Highness the Amir reflects the care of the state for youth entrepreneurs, the Ministry of Information said in a press release.
The statement appreciated the efforts made by Sheikha Amthal and Al-Jabri - who is also chairman of the Standing National Committee on National Celebration, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information and Deputy Chair of the Committee Tareq Al-Mezrem and Rapporteur of Committee Saud Al-Khaledi as well as the other members of the Committee to arrange for the fair and the sideline events.
The youth initiatives fair is keeping with the State's vision for revitalizing the domestic tourism and attract more tourists from other Arab countries, it said, noting that the Kuwaiti youth have more than 100 pavilions at the fair.
The shopping activities at Souq (marketplace of) Al-Mubarakiya - one of the oldest souqs in Kuwait, during the national celebrations are a reminder of the economic role of this area over the history of Kuwait, it added.
During the opening ceremony, Sheikha Amthal told reporters that His Highness the Amir's patronage of the fair signals his keenness on supporting the talented youth and encouraging them to make more innovative achievements.
"Representatives of the state departments, particularly the Ministry of Health and Kuwait Municipality, are in attendance at the fair for the convenience and safety of the participants and visitors," she added. (end) wr.msa.gb
