(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The newly instituted Indian School Wadi Kabir international along with the Primary and Senior wings of ISWK celebrated the 69th Republic Day of India with great fervour within its own premises.
Mahesh Toprani, a prominent member of the Indian business community and partner of Haridas Nensey Company, was the chief guest. Also present on this august occasion were Rajendra Ved, executive director of ISWK and ISWKi School Management, Harshendu Shah, president of ISWKi; Alkesh Joshi, president of ISWK other esteemed members of the SMC, special invitees, parents as well as expatriates belonging to the Indian community.
The play area of ISWKi had been exclusively done up to evoke feelings of patriotism and national pride. The wall face of a corner of the building had been draped in the National Tricolour hanging from the roof to the ground. A bunch of gas-filled tricolour balloons, brilliant against the clear blue sky, and swaying gently on either side of the seating area enhanced the jubilant mood of the gathering.
A solemn rendering of the National Anthem by the student choir set the tone and mood of the celebrations. Next came a stately March Past by the four houses of ISWK marching to beats of the school band. Tiny tots from kindergarten dressed as famous personalities of the Indian freedom movement stole the hearts of the onlookers. Patriotic songs and dances by all the wings of ISWK mirrored the feelings of the youngsters, the effulgent love for their motherland in their hearts.
A yoga dance troupe employing several popular yogic postures depicted the Tricolour as a motif with the 'chakra' in the middle to the accompaniment of a patriotic song.
