(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 30 (KUNA) -- Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Hilal Al-Sayer met with President of the Senate of the Philippines Aquilino Pimentel to discuss boosting bilateral ties.
In a statement to KUNA on Tuesday, Al-Sayer said that Pimentel hailed Kuwait's role in providing aid to Filipinos who were affected by natural disasters in the country.
He added that they also spoke of KRCS' role in supporting the Philippines, mainly the building of 297 homes in Tacloban island.
Al-Sayer noted that the meeting discussed the agreement signed between KRCS and the Philippine Red Cross to aid those diplaced in Mayon and Marawi cities with food, tents, ambulances, water and Iftar (fast-breaking meals) for next Ramadan. (end) aab.ag
