Egyptian EFG Hermes expands to Bangladesh


(MENAFN) Egypt-based investment bank EFG Hermes was revealed to have launched a representative office in Bangladesh.

EFG Hermes Holding Group Chief Executive Officer Karim Awad stated "Bangladesh is a key market as part of our drive to expand our representation in high-potential frontier emerging markets."

Frontier operations' chief executive Ali Khalpey pointed out that the bank is proving its execution potentials within various markets that include Morocco, Nigeria and Vietnam.

Khalpey also explained the new office is to primarily be to "facilitate the investment of foreign portfolios and our direct investment clients who want to invest directly in the broader economy of Bangladesh in sectors such as financial services, pharmaceuticals and infrastructure."
