Egypt declares dispute resolve over USD4.8 billion dam project
(MENAFN) The conflict among Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia over the hydroelectric dam project on the Nile was announced by Egypt's president to have settled down.
Following the meeting with Sudanese and Ethiopian Presidents, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi declared "congratulations, we solved our problems."
"We have overcome our problems. We will be working as one," he then affirmed.
The $4.8 billion mega hydro-electric dam project which is known as the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) has initiated by Ethiopia six years ago to build it near the Ethiopia-Sudan border, on the Nile.
