(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, Jan 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait and Tunis on Monday discussed ways and means of further promoting and consolidating bilateral security cooperation, mainly in the fight against terrorism, extremism and transnational crimes.

This came during a meeting between Kuwaiti Ambassador in Tunis Ali Al-Dhafiri and Tunisian Minister of Interior Lotfi Brahem.

Speaking to KUNA following talks, the Kuwaiti ambassador said he had discussed with the Tunisian minister closer coordination between Kuwait and Tunis in the fight against transitional crimes.

He added that they had agreed to promote security coordination, exchange high-level visits and draw upon each other's experience in various security matters.

The Tunisian interior minister said his country looks forward to seeing Kuwait playing a bigger role in resolving the Libyan crisis thanks to this Gulf nation's high-profile diplomatic position and relations with all parties.

He complained that the Libyan crisis has seriously affected all countries in the region, mainly Tunisia, not to mention consequent economic burdens. (end) ksj.mt
