UK Prime Minister Brexit bill demanded to be changed

(MENAFN) Prior to the House of Lords negotiation of the Prime Minister's flagship Brexit legislation in a single day, several prominent figures called for alterations to be conducted in it.

The European Union (Withdrawal) Bill has "fundamental flaws" in various shapes and it is necessary for it to be largely rewritten, the House of Lords Constitution Committee wrote in their report.

Committee chairwoman Baroness Taylor of Bolton "we acknowledge the scale, challenge and unprecedented nature of the task of converting existing EU law into UK law, but as it stands this bill is constitutionally unacceptable."

However, the change is said to be a complicated process because "in many areas the final shape of that law will depend on the outcome of the UK's negotiations with the EU".
