As many as 300 Azerbaijani citizens were killed in battles in Iraq and Syria, Sayavush Heydarov, deputy chairman of Azerbaijan's State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, told reporters in Baku Jan. 29.
Heydarov noted that 92 Azerbaijani citizens that were taking part in battles as part of radical groups in Iraq and Syria were brought to justice in Azerbaijan.
'Also, 260 persons involved in the battles have been identified and deprived of citizenship,' he added.
