Kuwait- SAB hosts Estonian inspectors to examine energy depletion

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's State Audit Bureau (SAB) will soon invite a delegation from the National Audit Office of Estonia to look into environmental evaluations over the issue of energy depletion.

The Kuwaiti auditors' meeting with their Estonian counterparts will seek to hammer out a plan of action to address the potential environmental impact of the oil industry, a statement by the bureau cited Muneera Al-Shemmari, the chief auditor dealing with production in the oil sector, as saying.

The agenda for the February 5-6 meeting also includes issues such as the European Union's electricity market and renewable energy, the statement revealed.

It pointed out that the Kuwaiti State Audit Bureau maintains a close rapport with Kuwait Oil Company in efforts to keep greenhouse gas emissions at bay.

The Estonian contingent, whose visit is a by-product of a deal signed with the Kuwaiti side in 2016, are also scheduled to visit Kuwait's Environment Public Authority, the statement added. (end) km.nam
