German president visits Al Quds Secondary School for Girls in Amman
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 28 (Petra)--German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife on Sunday visited Al Quds Secondary School for Girls in Jabal al-Nuzha neighborhood in Amman.
The German president, who was also accompanied by Minister of Education, checked on the school facilities and attended extracurricular activities that included sport and cultural competitions.
President Steinmeier also attended part of a school class for Jordanian and Syrian students and listened to their needs to improve the educational process at the school.
Through the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the & quot;Improved Learning Environments at Public Schools in Host Communities in Jordan (ILEPS) the German government financed the construction of school facilities, focusing on restrooms, sanitation management, hygiene, playgrounds and gardens.
The German government also works through the German Development Bank (KfW) to support Jordan's education sector to enable it to address challenges resulting from the Syrian refugee crisis.
During the visit, the education minister reviewed efforts exerted by the ministry to develop the education sector in the Kingdom, adding that the ministry is keen to provide relevant education to all children in Jordan despite their nationalities.
