Saudi Arabia: foreign bees import to be banned in the next three years


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia has arrived at a conclusion over foreign bees import and settled to impose a ban against it by 2020.

The purpose for the decision which was settled by Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdul Rahman Al-Fadli was to tackle imported bees threat against locals.

Several concerns have been imposed against beekeepers through imported bees with cross-breeding among those issues.

Fears were raised about the original breed to become endangered in case cross-breeding keeps on going.
